Hello, Artenauta! Today we talk to you about a topic that will not only help you to achieve the desired result in your works, but also in decoration and fashion: what colors does orange combine with?

Orange is the color of energy and vitality. Orange is a secondary tone resulting from the mixture, in equal parts, of red and yellow. We can also find shades with an orange tendency (tertiary) such as orange yellow or salmon.

By using orange, either in our works, or in fashion and decoration, we can induce in the viewer invigorating and stimulating sensations, providing the environment with joy and a feeling of comfort.

If we talk about color, we must necessarily refer to
The Theory of Color
and, with it, to the chromatic circle that has served us as a support and guide on so many occasions:

Chromatic circle and complementary colors

We find the perfect combination of any shade if we choose another shade that is adjacent (i.e., next to it on the color wheel) or complementary (located in the opposite position within the circle). In our case, we see that we can combine orange with neutral blue, yellow and red.

Depending on the shade of orange we choose, it will combine better with some tones or with others. For example, neutral orange combines perfectly with neutral blue (as mentioned in the previous paragraph), while the complementary color of yellow orange is blue/purple.

In addition to this, we can use neutral tones (white, black, gray …) with which we will always succeed, whatever the tone in question.

Another very good option that we can employ is the use of various shades of orange, being able to play with brightness and saturation.

Understanding and assimilating Color Theoryis of vital importance in order to work with paint and obtain the desired results, avoiding unnecessary waste of pigments and achieving much more vibrant and realistic finishes.
