Programming and content of module VIII
In this module we will work on the fluency of gesture and expressiveness, trying to gain confidence and control in the brushstroke.
We will explore textures through the study of botany and continue working on lace, portraiture and anatomy through the animal world.
By exploring new resources and analyzing the techniques used by other artists, we will expand our expressive range and come closer to finding our own language to define ourselves as unique artists.
Topic 1 - Controlling the brushstroke
Lessons:
- Studying the technique of other artists
- Brushstroke analysis
You will learn to analyze the techniques of other artists. This will allow you to find interpretative solutions to your own works, through the ones they have created; for this, you will work trying to copy famous paintings.
Topic 2 - Botanical elements
Lessons:
- Floral morphology
- Flowers
- Tree morphology
- Logs, textures and methods for painting trees
- Trees
In the following lessons, you will work on painting and drawing simple flowers and tree masses, to continue controlling the brushstroke, so that, as we move forward, you will be able to make it looser.
Topic 3 - Pictorial techniques applied to the animal world
Lessons:
- Approach to the study of the animal
- Pictorial techniques applied to the animal world
We will approach the study of the animal, through the works of other artists, in order to discover and learn new pictorial techniques.
We will try not only to copy these techniques, but rather to adapt them to our own style.
Through these lessons you will become more confident and acquire new resources to work with.
Topic 4 - Composition through botany
Lessons:
- Composition: chaos and order, color and brushstroke.
- Bouquets of flowers
- Flower fields
From what you have seen in the previous topics, you are going to start working in a more complex way.
You will work on compositions, for which you will become more familiar with concepts such as chaos, order,…
Topic 5 - Animal portrait
Lessons:
- Anatomy, attitude and animal movement
- Animal expression
- Movement attitude in the animal
After having been working, in the previous topics, the color, the brushstroke, the pictorial technique, … You will apply everything you have learned to the animal world, also developing the expressiveness of your work; for this, we will teach you how to represent the characteristics and anatomy of each species.
